LiDAR mapping tools

The EICD has been working with the Province of Manitoba and the International Water Institute (IWI) to develop tools utilizing LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging). These tools will help prioritize conservation type project locations and assist in water management.

LiDAR was collected in the Icelandic River/Washow Bay watershed in 2011. The EICD has worked with our project partners to analyze this dataset to help provide watershed residents, resource professionals, and local, provincial and regional official’s relevant land and water information.

The below maps and links to download the .KMZ file can be viewed using Google Earth. Each map is a layer that was built utilizing International Water Institute (IWI)/Red River Basin Decision Information Network System.
